  1. Puja Room is a must in every house. And we all know that the North East is the most auspicious direction.
  2. Temple (Pooja Room) should be placed higher so that God's feet must come to the level of the devotee’s chest.
  3. Lace light or Diya in the south-east corner of the Pooja Room.
  4. Always keep some insulation while praying or sitting in the temple such as mat or carpet.
  5. Home temple is ideal in wood while marble constructed temples are also considered appropriate.
  6. Do not keep photographs (pictures) of the dead/ancestors in the prayer zone.
  7. For the temple space, use white, beige, lavender or light yellow colors.
  8. This room or zone should be strictly used for prayer and meditation purposes only.
  9. Avoid keeping unnecessary items below the temple or dustbins in this area.
  10. Home temple should be ideally placed in the North-east corner which is also known as Ishaan corner (North direction) and the Alternative is east which means placing in East facing west.
  11. Some people keep the temple in the bedroom or kitchen. In such cases, hang a curtain in front of the temple, when you are not using the temple.
  12. Temple should not be against a wall that has a toilet behind it. It should also not be placed below a toilet on the upper floor.
  13. Do not keep temple on the floor directly because this means disrespect of Gods. Always lay some foundation before keeping the temple on it.
  14. It is auspicious to keep Crystal Kalash, right-hand Shank, Shree Yantra or Crystal Shankha in the prayer room.
